I was interested in this skirt because I liked its length and the fact that the back vent doesn't go too high to the waist. I had trouble with the size chart because I was between a size 6 and 8. At 5'8 1/2" and 155 lbs I usually wear a size 6 jeans, but I ordered this skirt in three different colors, a size 8. I'm glad I went up the size, although (as other reviews have warned) the waist is a little loose - problem easily solved with a belt. The hemline hits me an inch or two above the knee, it's a nice, modest length without looking tatty or matronly. It is important to note that these are not A-line skirts. These are pencil skirts that hug your hips and thighs. If you have a belly this skirt will NOT. . Space in the back pockets. The fabric has a bit of stretch so the skirt has some flex and is very comfortable to wear, but it's not a particularly thick or heavy cotton denim. If you're buying a white skirt, you definitely want to wear bare underwear, although the pockets on the skirt provide good protection.
