ATTENTION: Smoked amber glass

If like me you are looking for an Edison bulb with clear untinted glass, this is NOT what you are looking for. These lamps have amber colored glass which enhances the yellowing of the light emitted by the lamps. The filaments of an Edison bulb themselves emit a pleasing yellow light that I find amber (yellow) glass to amplify unnecessarily. Increased yellowing may be appropriate in some situations, but for everyday fittings, I think clear untinted glass is much more attractive. Unfortunately, the seller did not mention this small detail in the description. You mention "the light is yellow warm white" but that's to be expected from Edison-style bulbs. I hope they will correct this oversight in their description? I'm very disappointed as I've been looking for the brightest 60w Edison bulb I could find and it might fill the bill were it not for the amber glass which offsets its brightness.

Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks
