I bought this router for my father who uses xfinity. I set it up for him and after a few months the ethernet ports on the back stopped working. At first I thought it was some kind of lightning strike that caused the surge that day. Thinking it wasn't the router's fault I brought my dad an uninterruptible power supply and routed all the power, coax and ethernet cables through and brought another Netgear C6220 with me. This 2nd router got SUPER hot from MINIMAL use by my dad who was only working on his laptop. Less than 1 month of use and this thing can't stay connected to the internet: it needs to be unplugged for a minute before it can be plugged back in, and then it's allowed to connect to the internet for about 30 minutes before it disconnects again must become. . I think because of overheating. You can cook anything on this router. And also. We threw away the box and packaging so I don't think we can return it even though it's been less than 30 days since we brought the crappy router.
