This is a simple, almost reliable device. You open your hand to touch the battery contacts and look at the meter. Green is good, red is bad. There are two contacts for 9V batteries on the side. The hand is configured so that coin batteries can also be tested. Almost any battery can be tested in a few seconds. This device worked great. While not a true "stress test," it certainly distinguishes the living from the dead. I was able to replace dozens of batteries in just a few minutes. I recycle dead batteries, which means they accumulate until I can return them. No one picks up scattered batteries from a drawer because they don't know which are alive and which are dead. I had accumulated several dozen batteries and really needed a way to sort them. Ready! It's hard to complain on a $6 device, but since you've read this far I think you might be interested. I had to move the 9 volt batteries to make contact. It still works, but you have to be careful not to throw away some good 9V. Considering the battery cost, this is a great investment.
