Review on 💪 Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 8GB (2 x 4GB) 3200MHz Memory Kit - Top Performance for Speed and Reliability by Bobby Washburn

I bought 2 pairs of this RAM (4133MHz) to pair with my 8700K@Z390 Aorus Ultra. I'd like to preface this review by saying that the motherboard I'm using is very bad at overclocking memory (but handles the CPU pretty well) and you have to win the silicon lottery to run four 4133MHz DIMMs in parallel with running the 8700K, meaning I just couldn't keep up. This RAM has 2 XMP profiles: 4133MHz @ 19-21-21-42 and 4000MHz @ 19-19-19-39. Both have good base clocks and timings, especially at this price point considering other big brands like Corsair and G.Skill sell such RAM for at least $50 more. I couldn't boot Windows with all four @XMP1 DIMMs installed, but XMP2 ran like clockwork and successfully passed the memtest and the Aida64 stress test. I haven't had time to tweak the timings, but I'm sure you could do a lot more than these XMP settings with a board as good as the Asus Maximus XI Hero. Overall I'm happy with this purchase and hope to continue using it when I upgrade to Zen 2 this year (unfortunately that's not a given).
