Looking at the photos I assumed they were glazed the way porcelain is normally glazed, a color that becomes glass when fired in a kiln. You are not. They get printed somehow. similar to inkjet printing, matte finish, no protective coating. Looks very cheap. I'm sorry I bought them. If you write your own review, you'll find that it says "Rate the features" and appearance is not an option. There are many downsides to online shopping. It was one of them. Purchases like this make it less likely that I will risk buying another product in the future because I don't like returning things. It's annoying.
