Wow! performance and value.

Great sound and price. Reviews about it were correct, it does a good job of decoding using the AK 4493 DAC chip. You can turn off the beautiful orange display. It comes with a remote control! It's really great if you want to connect to your stereo as you can control volume and filters. I can't tell any real difference in the filters as they seem to be clipping beyond my hearing (and probably everyone else's too). It comes with a USB cable and power cord, which is a nice touch alongside the already excellent sound quality. I hooked this up to a JDS Labs Atom amp and it sounds great. Sounds good through headphones and earphones. There are many small details in my music that I didn't notice before with my other DAC. When I control my stereo, it seems like I have a different, more comfortable system. At $129 it was a HUGE VALUE. I have optical and coax inputs to play with but it sounds great from my computer. I would hardly spend more money for the next higher performance level, because the E30 is already excellent. For this level of value and performance, don't give it up, take it and rediscover your music. Great sound, no problem when used as a DAC or preamp/DAC with volume control. I received an upgraded block with my order so I don't have polarity issues. This sounds good on Arcam A19 and NAD C368 with decent Mogami cables. This is a nice DAC.

Pros
  • Enclosures - The E30 supports USB, optical and coaxial inputs covering many commonly used enclosures such as computers, OTG mobile phones, digital and media players, televisions and set-top boxes.
Cons
  • unreliable
