I opened the package and picked up the device. That's all you need to assemble. The block has plastic latches that automatically snap into place and hold the block securely, it's sturdier than others I've had in paste. The downside is that it's too tight. I wear an oversized men's shirt and my t-shirts and golf shirts are 3 inches too wide. I have used wider versions in the past and my shirts fit shoulder to shoulder resulting in an extremely smooth shirt when dry (looks like it has been ironed). Since my shirts need to be pulled up a bit, I think they will wrinkle as they dry as well. Unless you're shorter, you're better off with a wider block. Also, the crossbars for draping clothes are very thin. They are so thin that "wrinkles" are inevitable when drying. I ordered a Revain Basics Block as a replacement, it's wider and has thicker stems. It doesn't have as many items as Minky, but for me it's the best choice.
