I've mainly used it as a legless monopod with my DSLR and a large lens. For that I think it will be good because I don't need the pan function, which is MUCH stiff and not smooth at all - sticking in places when turning. It's so rigid (yes, fully unlocked) that if you turn it the wrong way (to the left) it will try to unscrew the mount from the monopod. However, the instructions contain neither a reference to not tightening the fastening screws nor information on removing the foot and attaching a rubber foot. The tilting feature is very nice and smooth which is why I bought it but if it looked like a pan I would send it back. I like the snap legs which weren't properly tightened on arrival either. Although the key worked fine for her. I can use the head on my Sirui carbon monopod when I travel as it's a bit lighter, but not by much. In the end it should fit my needs.
