Almost Perfect, But Not Quite

I like to wear accented lashes every day, I have baggy eyes and although I naturally have quite long and thick lashes, as I get older, false lashes almost completely cover them. I really liked the magnet idea, I thought using a special eyeliner with lashes would be quick, easy to apply and easy to maintain. These lashes are the perfect size and length, I don't need to trim them. Once upon a time, the length is just perfect for giving my eyes that extra punch without looking cartoonish. But there are certain problems I have with it. The lining is not very good. All MUAs apply mascara and then false lashes, but you can't use the brush this eyeliner comes with. General. Unless you want your natural lashes to be sticky and rough. This is solved by using your own brush so you can dip and gently apply the product. But you need to apply 2-3 coats of eyeliner to build up enough product for the magnets to grab the lashes, so no matter how hard I try I can always get the first coat nice and thin, but the 2nd and 3rd... layer makes the line very very thick. It's a great look for some but not all, and for me it's a great look for going out but not every day at the office. Lining is NOT waterproof or wearable. Something about the eyeliner makes my eyes water a little when I apply it and it runs. It lasts all day too, even with false lashes and Urban Decay All Nighter, and I'm not even in a world where it's warm from sweat and excess oil on my skin. then traditional fakes are used. It takes me about 3-5 minutes to apply traditional fakes using an adhesive sheet and a set of wipes. It takes me about 15 minutes to apply the magnetic eyeliner, reapply, set, reapply and set, apply the magnetic lashes, and then blend the eyeliner so it doesn't get choppy with super black circles around the eyes. After wearing and when you take your lashes off it leaves a thick, ribbon-like black liner that is 1/2 off and 1/2 you really have to rub with makeup remover to remove it. The magnets on the lashes tear off the liner and it sticks to it like glue. Not lash glue but real glue and removing lash growths is time consuming and very painful and you risk damaging your lashes which I absolutely did. All in all, with extreme care, I wore them about 4-5 times before they fell apart. Tip: You can't even wet the dirt from the magnets, it will wash away any chemical holding the lashes in shape and destroy them completely. Let's also talk about the price. At $18 (average with tax) for 1/2 lashes with a 5 tube of eyeliner, a pair cost almost $4 per application before they fell apart on me. I'm bougie, but it's *bankrupt* if I can get a set of 5 fakes in a pack for less than $10 (even cheaper at Revain!) with a tube of glue for about $4, which gives me 6-7 weeks holds . I run through them and average about $0.31 per wear. Even using the expensive glue sold at Sephora that lasts hundreds of uses still makes traditional fakes a clear winner in terms of cost, ease of use, and overall appearance. I can't deny that one day they'll look really cute, so I got a few pairs and tried a few different earbuds. One was a cream in a jar and I also tried a different brand of liquid eyeliner. I had exactly the same problems with drawing (thick lines) and transferring with them. There's no clear or brown version of the eyeliner either, plus the lash band that holds the lashes and magnets together is quite thick and black so a nude/natural look goes right out the door with them. Verdict: With the extremely high price tag and the above issues, I think it's ok for a one-time wear. For a more natural look every day, I stick to normal lashes.
