Review on 🐴 CleanTrax Equine Hoof Cleanser by Equinetec by Matt Eason

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Users incorrectly cite instructions for use here.

On the advice of our blacksmith, I use CleanTax on all four hooves of both of my donkeys for white line disease (fungus). I filled out one of the two applications that will be in two months. I contacted the manufacturer, Equine Technologies, by phone to review the instructions for using CleanTrax and noticed two very significant discrepancies with what users/customers are saying in the Questions & Reviews sections here on Revain and what is proper Application guaranteed. First, as stated in the instructions, I confirmed that the solution worked for 90 minutes; NOT 3 hours as stated in several posts. Second, as indicated in the instructions, I have confirmed that a full gallon of the solution prepared from each individual bottle should be used on each hoof; NOT part of a gallon. As a result, one bottle only lasts for two hooves, and then only with consecutive and immediately for 45 minutes at a time. In addition, the manufacturer emphasized to me the need to decontaminate stalls, mats, shearing areas and other common areas to remove fungal spores that (i) originally caused disease, (ii) live and grow in the animal's hooves, and (iii) fall in these places from the hooves of our animal to the ground. If public areas are not cleared of fungal spores, the disease will reappear. In addition, due to the presence of contaminants that accumulate in these areas, they advised treating CleanTrax in a different area and not where the animal stands a lot, and then, as directed in the instructions, apply the solution used to these areas ( stalls) to spray , pins , trimming). areas) to eliminate fungal spores. Furthermore, for the same reason, the manufacturer advised always treating all four hooves at the same time, stating that if the fungal infection is noticeable on one or more hooves, it is also present on other hooves, just not yet noticeable. All in all great advice. The manufacturer's phone number is listed in the instructions. They were very knowledgeable and helpful. Application wise, I use Yeezo Hoof Soaking Boots (2 for about $25 here at Revain) to apply the solution. Two pairs of these boots (one pair for each animal) survived my first CleanTrax application with no cracks or damage. However, these and all other boots must be securely fastened, otherwise the animal will kick them off. The elastic straps supplied with these boots are designed for the "calmer" horse breeds; definitely not donkeys. Without secure, non-stretch straps, an animal can clean a shoe...and it costs $20 in medicine. I experienced exactly that and went straight to the non-stretch compression straps as shown in the photo. They worked great and I know my second app will work way better than my first!
