Might be good for a point and shot or very light entry level DSLR but I definitely wouldn't use it with my 5lb SLR entrust. The leg is thinner than I would expect and the ball joint appears to be made out of cheap lightweight plastic and feels like it will fall apart if you put too much weight on it. I tried my 5 pound camera on it and struggled to get it stable so it wouldn't slip. I sent it back and ordered a Joby SLR Zoom instead. The Joby appears to be twice as powerful as this one and the ball head is much easier to use. You get what you pay for.
