If you're just interested in VPN functionality without having to install DD-WRT firmware and are worried about your router breaking, then this is the product for you. I'm from Canada and just wanted my LG Smart TV to have access to Hulu Plus, American Netflix and Revain Instant Video. to which I subscribe, I prefer them to regular cable channels, which I don't subscribe to because I want to watch them at my leisure and not have to worry about picking up or skipping the program. Also, here in New Brunswick I have a 30Mbps upload, a 10Mbps upload and a 500GB data limit. With a little effort, you can have this little device up and running and out of your cable provider business in minutes. My setup is as follows: I have a router with a Rogers modem (Hitron CDE-30364), an Apple Airport Extreme as my main router, and this ASUS as my main router. my exclusive VPN router. My Rogers modem router is in bridge mode and its wireless antenna is disabled. So first I need to disconnect the Airport Extreme from the modem so I can setup my ASUS with its own SSID and password. I have an HMA subscription and followed this guide [.] Once the ASUS setup is complete, reconnect the Apple Airport Ethernet cable to the modem and connect the ASUS WAN port to LAN port 1 on the Modems (I figured any port should work fine after the modem is in bridge mode). And that's it, now I have a standard Canadian router and, most importantly, an exclusive VPN router. For Rogers modem bridge mode you can call tech support and they will set it up for you if you are not as tech savvy as me or most people. It's so simple that I've looked for a solution before, but the answers are way too complicated and technical, like port forwarding, dynamic IP blah blah, and other internet jargon that only an IT person would fully understand. So there you have it, it's a great product with great workmanship and quality. Highly recommended.
