This product does not solve serious Wi-Fi signal strength problems associated with a "dead zone". I bought this antenna and installed it on my Linksys WRT54G in my computer room upstairs and at the "weak spot" downstairs where I usually work, the signal strength on the Apple Airport status meter went up about 1 bar. However, this did not help. my whole problem. To do this I had to add a second router and run WDS between them. I now get a full 5v5 Wi-Fi signal throughout my house. This is a good starting point, although the small boost you get might be enough.
