I think it's perfect for beginners. The case is very cute and compact and I was concerned it would break like other buyers BUT mine arrived perfectly intact which was a great relief. There are very similar colors but some of them are lighter/darker which makes the color choice really good. I received 2 extra skeins which I am very happy about. Haven't used the thread myself yet, waiting for my own stuff, but advanced users don't seem to like it. My mother-in-law (older and more experienced) says it's not the best quality, but it's enough for me. The threads didn't come organized but the color (was very random) I arranged to my liking.
