Absorbent mat best in my review

I found these mats by accident on Best Buy when I was researching diatomaceous earth for my garden. I had never heard of these mats before and began to do extensive research on them. I got it mainly because my 7yo splashes a lot and also tends to take toys (dolls etc) in and out of the tub and I was worried she would slip. Before this I always put down a towel or foam mats but sometimes they would become saturated, slip or become mildewy if forgotten.I love all things marble so this fits with my desired aesthetic, except it’s starck white. I wish it came in beige to better match the travertine tile. Also it’s got some silly messaging on it that I wish weren’t even there. Because it’s my 7yos bath I don’t really care; I just turned the message upside down.Lastly if you read more about these style mats, you’ll find they aren’t designed to get super saturated and if they sit in water the layers may start to bloat and separate. I knew this was a risk but figured I would take a chance and so far no problems. The downside compared with a rug is that this is not soft obviously. Tip: you can still place a bath mat on top! This is not slick so the bath mat won’t slide on top and this will absorb whatever soaks through.

Pros
  • Low maintenance and eco-friendly
Cons
  • The smaller size of the mat may not provide adequate coverage or protection in larger bathrooms or high-traffic areas
