I like that they are metal. Will last a lifetime. I'm an advanced DIYer and not a professional mechanic but they were on sale and I've taken 3 cars to the dealership on 3 separate occasions and they told me the brakes needed replacing. On my daughter's civilian car with 30,000 miles, the hijacker/dealer told her to change the brakes because they had gone bad. I told her to bring the car home and I will. I bought new OEM pads from Honda and changed them myself, but when I removed the tire I saw that the pads were still only 50% worn. I changed them anyway because I had them and was there with the brake calipers removed, but I was pissed. With my other daughter, they did the same thing twice in her car. I tell my girls not to do anything but butter and I'll check it out when they get home. I bought these thickness gauges so I can test myself because I can no longer drive myself and take their cars to the oil change service (both rent cars and I think the oil change isn't that bad, $$ from the dealer and it's recorded, that maintenance was going on just in case something shit happens.) But those damn dealers keep trying to rob my kids because they're girls. They told my daughter to use synthetic oil and charged her $80 for an oil change on a Honda Civic.
