These 3/8" outlet housings are ideal for installing under the sink or at points of use. In my case, I bought a few pieces to use under the sink. The 8-inch connector is a good size that provides a decent connection between cases without being too big. Larger openings become more of a challenge to seal tightly. My sleeves don't leak except for the button. And that's really the only problem I have. The red "Pressure Release" button is actually useless as you can release the pressure by shutting off the water supply and turning on the faucet. In my cases, water seeps around the button but never becomes a full leak. What seems to help is pushing the knob to release the air trapped in the filter and turning the knob by twisting it. This seems to help create a better seal and eventually it stops leaking. I bought 5 cases and they all leaked on the button but not enough to make me return them and pay extra for cases without buttons. In case anyone is wondering how easy it is to connect them: 3/8" NPT male/male nipples between each body cap 3/8" NPT to COMPRESSION fittings on the supply side and flow side, usually 3/8" much cheaper too the local hardware store. Low-lead brass was the only option. I used compression tubing to make a connection from the plumbing to the cold line on my kitchen faucet.
