I bought this because my young friend said it was a "piggy bank bomb" for grating food. Pros: There is a place to install a grater, slicer or straw cutter by placing it on the transparent top of the container that holds the set. The grater or slicer fits the black handle at the top and there is a notch to keep it from slipping off. It's a little tricky to position it properly in its slot, and when it doesn't, it slips. So far I have used both graters and slicers successfully. The toothed part for grating food hasn't worked for me yet; I tried it with carrots, parmesan, mozzarella and cheddar cheese. It breaks the hard cheese into smaller pieces, slides off the mozzarella, and doesn't grab the carrots at all. Although the design and concept is amazing, I have to deduct a star because it's difficult to insert the graters/discs correctly and the pusher doesn't work properly at all.
