Review on UHPPOTE Outswinging Electromagnetic Maglock: Ultimate Control and Security Solution by Justin Early

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Funny documentary, what the heck.

Update May 24, 2018 I have changed from 2 stars to 4 stars. I would give 5 stars if the documentation could be used. But google search helps. If anyone needs my finished wiring for this I'd be happy to add. My kitchen door is equipped so that my dog can get in and out himself. I turn on the magnetic lock when I want the dog not to leave. I activated the device through home automation available through Alexa. I just say "turn on Tommy" to turn on the magnet (the dog's name is Tommy). I tell Alexa "Turn off Tommy" if I want to allow Tommy to leave/enter the house. A key fob hangs on each side of the door to access the exit when the lock is closed. It was a HUGE achievement, no need to throw a bolt to complete the same task ------------------------------- --- ------------------ Original comments during installation: I was looking for a schematic that connects the various components. I'm not sure if I've lost it or if it's missing, but I have NO information on how to connect the remote control receiver to the system. I learned a bit from you tube videos but still haven't figured out the correct wiring. And good luck figuring out how to open the magnetic block without providing your own documentation (thanks You Tube!). I'm confused as to why a simple chart wasn't included. Can't find any links to it. I always assumed I could find out the links to ANY product in 5-10 minutes by Googling. Very disappointed. What documents are there? Written so badly that it became interesting. I know that a magnet "sucks" and so on. At least that's the best I can understand. I might add the "Magnets" documentation (sucks)! The hardware looks good but I can't confirm if it works.

Pros
  • Commercial access control
Cons
  • Electrical socket required
