I was recently shocked by my Internet bill to discover that for some reason it had gone up $20. Thanks to this and the fact that my router is 5 years old and Wi-Fi technology and standards have improved a lot since then, I decided it was time to upgrade and I'm glad I did. The setup is very simple: you need to disable WPS (which, by the way, should be done, since it is a security risk and a vulnerability), Wi-Fi 2 and 5 GHz and passwords for two networks. Simple enough for those who aren't tech savvy, assuming you need to make sure you read through it, and feature rich enough to suit the needs of someone who wants to set up a DMZ or forward a port or two. To set it up you just need to make sure it's compatible with your ISP, call that ISP and tell them you have a modem that needs setting up and like me (Mediacom) they will ask for the MAC (HFC not WAN I guess) address written on the bottom of the modem and you will be connected soon.
