I found it best to peel the decals off the foil with your fingernails and then use the tool provided to apply them to the nail instead of using the tool to peel them off the foil which can result in tearing, because they are so thin. But I like that they are thin because after applying the top coat they blend into the nail and you don't feel a difference in thickness or anything. *I used gel so I don't know how it compares to regular polish.
