I've ignored all of the research I've done on suede (you can see the other ignored clues in my review for the "Original CatHole") . My Experience: I used suede paint on a pair of premium *purple* Italian shoes (only $64 new!). The seams did not fully take on the color. Xfer also paint. Uses the black version of Resolene over the paint job. The seams are now black. HOWEVER, I'm sorry I didn't use this full concentration *only* in the seam area and diluted 1/2 with water for the rest. Overall, the suede texture is dated but not patented either (it's an *interesting* finish - overall I'm very pleased). Line of wool around the edges - I would use the same small eyeshadow brush I used when I painted around the edges. Conclusion: very impressed with the lack of Xfer dye after use and that the thread turned black.
