As I write this I am concerned that this hub is shorting out my MacBook Pro. I've had this hub working in my office with no problems despite only having two peripherals attached to it. I brought it home and installed it on my MacBook Pro. I first plugged it into the USB port on the left side of my MBP. There were problems when I connected a floppy disk drive to it. After a few tries, the drive died, and I decided to move the connector from the left USB port to the right USB port. As soon as I plugged it into the correct USB port on my MBP, it turned off. The screen went black and after a few tries I couldn't get it to boot. When I contacted Belkin, it seemed to me at first that they might be able to help, but they soon failed to consider that any surge from their center could cause a problem. There are customer testimonials on their website and two other potential over-voltage issues that cause ports to fail have been mentioned. I also posted a review on their site but found that while they didn't fix this issue, they removed my review like they have done with other Splash reviews. This hub has a very low rating on this own site. I am very concerned that this hub may damage the computers it is connected to.
