UPDATE: The company has responded to an email request for a replacement. They offered a 5% refund so I could buy another set or just exchange through Revain. I decided to exchange it, let's see how the new set turns out. I like the variety of colors, the tips are superb, they write/bloom smoothly. They feel good in the hand, but I don't like that the lids don't snap into place on the opposite end. A paint is generally colorless, there is no pigment at the tip, there is a slight tint at the tip of the brush, but nothing comes out and it's not even wet. A strange blob of pigment sticks to the side of one tip. Some lids don't snap as tightly as most. Overall they are of good quality for the price.
