My brother introduced me to this game during a weekend visit and we (5 people in our group) played it 3 times over 2-3 days. I ended up buying it after it was gone because we really liked it. If you don't have enough players, you can always ask one or two players to play two characters. My husband and I sometimes play 2 characters each. This doesn't give you much of an advantage since many actions affect players depending on the number of characters playing. We tried playing with only two players and it seems to us that it is almost impossible to win (we have never won with only two players). I wouldn't recommend it to people who don't like complex games because you have to pay attention and there are many aspects/rules to learn and understand. If you really like strategy games like Munchkin, Dominion, Agricola etc. I would recommend this game. Creepy stuff like Dominion and Munchkin, once you learn about the characters' "powers" things can go a lot faster.
