Exactly what I wanted. The actual length of 35 inches covers almost the entire bed of my 2018 Tiguan. A 42" will also work, but I don't usually stretch things past the outer 3" on either side, so it doesn't matter. I bought this product because it worked so well on my old VW Golf. The seller gives you enough 3M tape to seal all the edges and attach the third piece in the middle. I centered it and used masking tape to mark placement. I then treated the bumper and blank with glass cleaner and then used the included prep pad on both. I warmed it all up with a hair dryer, applied some tape and had a trusty assistant hold the opposite end while I attached the working end to the very edge of the top of the bumper. The helper makes it much easier to align the profile correctly so it doesn't get stuck where it shouldn't be. Satisfied with the fit, I pinched it down and ran it through the blow dryer one more time. This method works well as shown by years of use of my previous bumper guard.
