Review on Thrustmaster T300 Servo Base: Ultimate Gaming Experience for PS4, PC, and PS5 by Jamal Gerrero

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good steering wheel, very few complaints. I am very satisfied with this and have saved quite a bit compared to the Fanatec CS setup.

I'm very happy with my T300, although I wish the case wasn't so big. Removing the top cover could have saved Thrustmaster a lot of space with a little effort, making it a lot easier to fit the odd case into a dash assembly like my own. Instead I had to cut out the dashboard to fit the T300. I think I have nothing to complain about, but if there was one I would switch; that's all. The ability to swap wheels is very handy, but as I often swap between a lap and F1 wheel I would like the connecting hub to be metal rather than plastic. Because you have to put a screw in the yoke to attach the wheel to it, the screw hole in my yoke has loosened a bit; cause for concern. Functionally it still works and I haven't felt any of my wheels fall off or wobble yet, I'm worried about the future. The software package that Thrustmaster uses is one of my favorites and I've never had a detection issue with any game I've tried. The steering wheel, all of its buttons and switches, pedal inputs and shifters are on one side of the kit. In comparison, Fanatec devices require a separate configuration page for each connected device, which is frustrating at times. I didn't like the T3PA Pro pedals at all and opted for Fanatec CSV3 pedals instead. The Thrustmaster software suite still captures Fantec input and displays it on the configuration page with the T300; which is very, very nice. I also use the Fanatec CSS1.5 shifter, which also works on the Thrustmaster config page. No Fanatec equipment can be connected to the bike, which is not a complaint but an observation; That's why I was surprised that they showed up in the Thrustmaster software. I tried the Fanatec Clubsport Base + Wheel configuration and found that the force feedback was slightly stronger, but oddly not as smooth or precise. I'm very glad I chose Thrustmaster instead and the ease of using other hardware with it makes me very happy. The T300 is also significantly cheaper than fitting Fantec wheels, although not as customisable. I agree as I feel like most users don't want to change their wheels often (or even own more than one). In general I am very satisfied.
