Our 5 year old has been enjoying his mini scooter for a year but wanted a 'big' scooter for only 2 wheels. I wasn't sure if she was ready for it or if it would be too much work for her or too dangerous. But she really likes it and she's fine! Her biggest problem with this is remembering that she has to do all the balancing herself - her mini macro had 3 wheels and stood up on its own, but the microsprite needs support and the kickstand has to be activated to stay upright . your own. She's also learning to slow down by using the brake instead of just her foot - the microsprite is faster than the mini macro, so she's really moving! It seems appropriate for a 5 year old, but her friends her age still love the mini macro photography. She also had to get used to the fact that the micro-sprite turns differently than the mini-macro - the steering wheel turns the front wheel here - while the mini-macro turns by tilting the body sideways.
