When I ordered this I replaced a cheap Maverick unit I bought from Bed Bath and Beyond [no longer working]. After studying, with excellent reviews, I ordered this device. Thought the thicker end would make the probe easier to use. And vice versa; The probe is listed as "Super Long" and it is. Also, the suspenseful ending makes the ending harder. Almost every time I tried to use it, especially for burgers and fish, the heavy end and long probe came out of the meat or fish. Couldn't get it to work. i-Tronics was a pleasure to work with and they responded quickly to all my emails. Replace with another ThermaPro with a shorter probe that isn't too heavy to stay in place. If someone finds a better way to make it work then it's probably a very good module.
