This worked for Windows 7, Windows 10 (both plug and play and great). And it works on XBox. With daily use, that was enough for 2 months until the joysticks failed. If you are a very occasional user it may take a year. This is pretty typical performance for an all-in-one controller -- in fact, it can last a bit longer than other all-in-one brands we've tested. But the bottom line is, if you want something that will last, get a brand name one. Additional notes on this: I love that the joystick lights up. Just an aesthetic thing, doesn't help the game at all. Has comfortable handles. Vibration works well. But I bought a Logitech controller for under $20 that lasted a year with heavy use. If you primarily use Xbox, I would recommend the Xbox brand. I really haven't found a universal controller that works as well as the well-known brands.
