#1 If you're using a "traditional" dog harness whose end fits into the bottom of a car harness, thank you for caring enough for your dog to know he should. also wear a belt. #2 If you use this belt you will never want to use it again after trying this one. Firstly, it's obviously all about the headrest, you don't have to worry about your dog getting his foot stuck like he does with a harness that attaches to things in your seat. or worse, it curls up into an awkward position it can't stand, forcing you to take your eyes off the road (please don't). This design is really awesome and they've got all the bases covered. The buckle on the strap that goes around the headrest is not just a buckle, it is made of metal and has a two-stage closure, you need to press both sides at the same time and then separate the parts. This means (in my opinion) it's less likely to come loose. As well as being a very secure and well-made harness, the carabiner you attach to your dog's harness is also two-stage, meaning you have to twist the clip's clasp to unlock it while opening it at the same time. When the latch closes, it automatically closes and locks again. This is a long length that is easy to adjust. My dog likes to climb on windows, but I don't let him when I'm going fast or in a busy area. I'm worried that something will hit him or get something in his eyes. So if the surfing conditions are not ideal, I take the slack and shorten the leader. a little more length to enjoy the wind in his face. I am very happy with it and if I weren't so lazy I would go to my car and pick it up so I can take a picture of the clasps so you can see the security features for yourself. Hopefully a photo of my dog roaming the window will do. ;) I hope my humble opinion will help you somehow. Thank you for reading.
