Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Noctua NH-U12S Chromax.Black CPU Cooler - 120mm Single-Tower Cooler in Black by Shelly Rozendaal

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Durable, efficient and aesthetic.

Look, the fastening system is worth its price. This was the easiest, hassle-free CPU cooler installation ever. I have a Corsair H60 AIO, a Deepcool Gammax 400 and a Hyper 212 EVO Black which Cooler Master claims are AM4 compatible, but I had a very hard time installing them on my motherboard (ASRock B450m Pro4). It cools better than all others and is almost inaudible. I was very uncomfortable with the amount of torque the board had to endure to get everything in line with the 212 EVO, but this Noctua cooler has an excellent mounting system. This is the best. Is always. It took longer to get the 212 EVO out of my car than to put the NH-U12S in it. Let me be the first to tell you this cooler is worth every penny. Especially if you're doing a black and white build like me, but looks are the last thing to worry about. I currently have four tabs open in Firefox, I'm listening to music, and the heater is on maximum, right below my computer, and it's 24 degrees Celsius. When playing Destiny 2, Halo: Reach, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, etc.; Temperatures hover around 39-42 degrees Celsius and AIDA64 stress tests show an average temperature of 55 degrees Celsius at 100% load for 10 minutes with a peak temperature of 65 degrees. There is no sign of throttling or approaching TJ max on my Ryzen 5 2600. Even when overclocked to 4GHz, the highest temperature I've seen was 77C. Pros: - Installation is so easy that a AIO kid can handle it - Almost silent and the sound is quiet under load - Incredibly solid build - Made from very high quality materials - Anti-vibration mounts make color matching easier Cons: - It wasn't free.
