I selected this pendant partially for the subject matter (tree of life) and partially color. As is the case with natural objects, such as stone, colors do vary. The stone in the picture is exactly what I was looking for. The stone that arrived is very different and will clash with the garment it was meant to go with. I am keeping it to give to the same young lady for Christmas but not as a match for a dress she will be wearing to an important event in a week's time. If you are not particular about the color/shade of the stone, I'd give it two thumbs up. The one in the picture is more of a dark plumb color, what I got is a lighter purple. Still beautiful, but not what I wanted.The craftmanship was very good, and I'm sure my granddaughter will enjoy this necklace as a gift later this year.
