I bought these bobo balloons from two manufacturers to see if there is a difference. There is! Zodight's initial size is larger than the other manufacturer's, but it only has ON/OFF as its lighting mode (read the fine print!), while the other manufacturer has 3 modes (fast flash, slow flash and ON). It was easier to inflate the Zodight balloon to a larger size, but the best I could do was 14 inches (18 inches just doesn't sound true). Tips: 1) Buy more balloons than you need! You will definitely pop one or two as you inflate to find the max size. 2) Don't forget to stretch the balloon in the X and Y directions (maximum effort. grunting is good). Inflate the helium balloon slowly to allow it to expand as it inflates. Tie a knot as close to the balloon as possible so the strands of wire are taut. 3) Do not rush to unwind the wire strands to avoid kinks. Flatten and straighten the wires with your thumb and forefinger. Check the performance of the stranded wire (insert batteries). I had a faulty LED on a string. 4) Wrap the starting end around the knot (I find two turns is enough) and start wrapping the thread around the balloon (I use the balloon's seam as a guide). Two more wraps around the knot and you can start the 2nd wrap perpendicular to the 1st. You only have enough wire for two wraps if the balloon is big enough to float. Finish with three turns. The balloon video was filmed using a third-party controller on a fast flash. It is likely that the wire racks will loosen over time due to balloon shrinkage (helium leak but also lower ambient temperature) and will need to be recoiled to keep them taut. Don't expect a balloon to float for days. loose strands appear at 12 hours and stop floating at 36 hours, but they should be tight for the first 6 hours. Reusing balloons and string is entirely feasible (used balloons are easier to inflate to a larger size!). Don't forget to close the helium tank's hard cap. The nipple nozzle is slowly leaking.
