Motion sensor not working

Got the light yesterday. Easy to open, insert batteries and switch on. However, there are two problems. Problem No. 1: Absolutely no detection when automatic (motion sensor) is activated. Waving your arms, passing, throwing in the air and catching, nothing. It never turns on. The only way to turn on the light is to toggle it from Auto to On. Since that's the only real reason for this light, it gets 1*. Problem #2: The magnet is so weak that the light slides onto the floor. Although I haven't tested it on a cruise ship cabin wall, I have tested a refrigerator, a chest freezer, and a sheet of steel. All easily hold other magnetic objects. I wouldn't care if it was near the ground as long as the light was on. Still, do not advertise as a magnetic light that cannot support its own weight. Update #1: Updated from 1* to 4*. Problem #1 solved. 1* magnet discount. I think the light sensor regulates the brightness in the room. If there is enough light, the motion sensor will not work. If the room is very dark, the sensor is very sensitive and works as expected. It needs to be documented somewhere so the user knows it's not "broken". This is a nice feature because the light is not needed in "Auto" mode when the room is already lit.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
