If you have small bubbles and weird specks that cause ghosting when you touch the screen, this is an anti-glare coating. After reading reviews of the alcohol pad destroying their screen, I just wanted to put the screen protector on without using it, just hoping it would help the ghost touch. I changed my mind and said the F%#*. At first it seems that it spoils the screen, but leaves this coating. If anything, you need more alcohol. After wiping it well with an alcohol wipe, everything came off and my screen looked better than when it was new with no screen protector. I honestly didn't feel like wearing a protector anymore, but I figured I'd put it on anyway. I put them on phones all the time but never upright so there were a few small bubbles but you can't see them when you turn them on and the manufacturer says they might go away after a while but that has saved me a $1000 repair, so I'm a happy camper.
