I'm so disappointed. I've been eating them for months and thought they tasted great because they're keto friendly. I noticed that I had problems with the gastrointestinal tract, but I wasn't sure where they came from. Upon closer inspection of the ingredients, I noticed soluble corn fibers. Sounds harmless, doesn't it? It's not like this! It's also known as maltodextrin, a bad sugar substitute that I never intentionally eat. It should be illegal for companies to use innocent-sounding names for bad ingredients. And be careful if you're keto! Soluble corn fiber can kick you out of ketosis and make you gain weight. Even with a lower glycemic index than some sweeteners, it's still a carbohydrate with no nutritional value and will raise your blood sugar. This is a definitive fat storage recipe. And it's not exactly fiber. So when subtracted from this cookie's gross carbs, the net carbs look WAY lower than they actually are. Fiber does not raise blood sugar levels. SCF will It seems terribly unethical for companies to advertise foods as keto when they aren't, and try to confuse consumers with products containing maltodextrin. Well, all for a dollar, right?
