I have two of these. One stays on my desk at work where he keeps my laptop next to my monitor which is on a 6 inch stand. The available height range of the laptop stand is almost perfect for what I believe to be the correct ergonomic height when sitting at a desk. With the laptop set up, the stand is very stable. This is perfect for me at work. My second stand accompanies me in clubs when I'm DJing. It's far from the best booth for club DJs, but it works great. Again, this is stable when the laptop is in place. I've had to tighten the bars every few nights, but that's a minor inconvenience. My only real complaint is that the metal that makes up the stand is flimsy and bends fairly easily. I don't take it apart when I throw it in the trunk of my car at night. At one point it bent a little and I had to bend it back to make my laptop sit flat. Conclusion: This stand is great if you just leave it there. It's not great if you move it around a lot and aren't extra careful. Over time I will replace the one I carry with something stronger.
