This is the third exact same laptop I've bought (had to give up the first two when moving) and it's a lot cheaper than the previous ones from other brands. While it's true that these things aren't very strong and stable, the identical 3-way adjustable hinges on the market, regardless of brand, have exactly the same level of strength/stability in my experience. So I can understand people complaining about a) having to take the laptop off and adjust it with two hands b) the thing always wobbles a bit. After extensive research I have not found any alternatives that are either made of a more durable material or are easier to adjust and offer everything this model has to offer. Using this particular model of laptop has the benefit of versatility, and if that's your priority then you have to accept them for what they are. You can place them on a desk to hold books open and read without hurting your neck, use them with your feet under your feet on the floor, or use them as a stand next to your desk if you rarely use your computer during of learning and want to save money. I have never had any accidents with these stands (loose joints, dropped my laptop, etc.) I have been using these stands for 5 years. I repeat, since these laptop models are the most versatile. on the market and this particular product as cheap as it gets, I would still have no hesitation in recommending it. PS: The fans work perfectly, but if I really needed cooling, I would definitely go for a more powerful alternative.
