In fact, this is a working-class general-purpose microphone. Its decent price and very good sound reproduction in a controlled environment. Condenser mics are generally not designed for use in live performance, so you need to know this beforehand. In terms of condenser mics, the MXL 990 is the only other that can match this guy at this price point. I would say the 2020 has a warmer response. Quality wise I've dropped this mic a few times (I know it's not acceptable for condenser mics) and it still works great, my MXL 990 broke on the first drop.
