We bought these steps for our 10 year old 12 lb Maltese because the others were too steep and he kept falling (photo attached). Not enough space for the steps and the steps were too close together. That is the difference! He kept falling in love with others. The wider, deeper steps here help him not fall down the stairs like the others, and the carpet also helps with safety. We recommend! My 8 year old put them together without adult help so I would say they are easy to put together. They do not slip at all on our parquet floors due to the adhesion on the underside. For reference, from the floor to the top of our 32 inch mattress.
