My drip irrigation emitters clogged at the beginning of each irrigation cycle despite the Y filter. Therefore, I decided to buy a Rusco spinning filter and install it immediately after the pressure of the water from the well. The Rusco roll-on filter installs easily (I had to cut and glue the PVC tubing, of course) and looks well designed and made. Now I've been installing it for almost 2 months and haven't had any clogging of the drip emitter. since installing the return filter. Of course, I didn't see as much sand filtered out as I expected. I've washed the filter a few times but I don't think it has accumulated enough sand to make it worth it. Perhaps the fountain is no longer sucking in sand or the filter is working as if by magic. I'll wait and see if I run into any emitter clogging issues next year.
