Review on πŸ“Ά NETGEAR EX7300 WiFi Mesh Range Extender - Enhances Range for up to 2300 sq.ft. and 40 Devices with AC2200 Dual Band Speed of 2200Mbps, including Mesh Smart Roaming by Sean Moran

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Worked fine for 30 days, but then.

Easy setup in 5 minutes and now I have no dead spots in or around my house. Although it's not mentioned anywhere except for a few obscure reviews, be aware that with any of these "range extenders" or repeaters, you're trading bandwidth for coverage. Because they pass the signal from your wireless router in repeater mode, your connection speed is about half that of your router. This is fine as long as your ISP gives you enough bandwidth to get started. In my case, my router is putting out just over 100m/s, and this range extender is pumping out about 60m/s into the previously blind spots in my house. for an overview of this range extender. After about 30 days you cannot connect to this extension in the 2.4 GHz band. It signals the connection but doesn't allow it and rejects the credentials. The reconfiguration allows a connection to be established for a day or two, but then connections are rejected again. It's configured in normal mode (not fastlane) and uses the same credentials as the parent router and has no problems connecting over the 5GHz band. I have contacted Netgear customer support but based on other customer comments I am not expecting a response this century. I downgraded my rating to 3 stars. I may have gone below, but it works well in the 5GHz range and was amazing until this issue came to light. I will update again if Netgear ever fixes the issue.
