Review on 🌲 Cedarwood Shaving Cream by Taylor of Old Bond, 0.33 lb. by Cynthia Chacon

First class men: shaving and hair removal

I've heard that TOBS is the best shaving soap by which all others are measured. I finally tried some. I like woody scents and chose cedar. Unfortunately, the taste is very weak. It's fun at best. In terms of performance, TOBS did not disappoint. I put a small amount in a bicrops bowl I bought from Revain which has ridges and is amazing. I wet the synthetic WCS brush and then ran it, correctly assuming it wouldn't need much water. In a minute I had whipped up enough thick foam for three calls. I shaved well. If you are looking for something similar but with a stronger flavor I would recommend Alonzo's, also a British product. I've been using Crabtree & Evelyn shaving soap (also British) for years, but they no longer contain sandalwood. TOBS lives up to its reputation; Now if they could only improve the smell I would add a star to my rating.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Good but not great
