I bought the size XL for my 8 year old but it's too short. It covers her ass but doesn't even reach mid-thigh. She is about 42 inches tall. In terms of quality, it's not bad. The satin lining is double layered. A short short dress will do if that is what you are looking for. We wanted it underneath her dress which was a few inches above her knees but because the skirt was too short her buttocks stuck out and the hem of her dress lay flat. Unfortunately it didn't help us.
