My parents' landline was constantly being inundated with robocalls. One call after another from early in the morning until 9 p.m. It was like there were thieves outside the door all day. But this phone system stops almost all robot calls. It has a setting that asks the caller to touch a certain button and then write down their name, which most robo callers can't do. If the caller is in the known contacts list on the phone, the call will go through without delay. Otherwise the caller has to touch a button and say their name, after which they are immediately transferred to the answering machine so someone can take the call, otherwise the caller just leaves a message. My parents had a minimal learning curve. They had to get used to the fact that an answering machine would announce an incoming call if they didn't hear the phone ring. That confused her a little. But given the day the robots called subscribers, I think it was a good compromise. This phone system was so good at stopping the bots from calling that they worried their phone wouldn't even work since they were so used to dozens of calls a day.
