Ideal for repairing home furniture

We have a beautiful oak and leather rocking chair in our living room. After a few years of use and 2 moves, the backboard has become unreliable - if you put all your weight on it while rocking, it will fall out. We learned from YouTube upholstery videos that professionals use a similar upholstery fabric to reinforce chairs. We decided that we could restore the rocking chair back at home using straps and a construction stapler (pictured). Here's how we restored the chair: 1. Remove the old brackets holding the back panel (leather front, foam rubber, board, leather back) to the frame2. measured rear frame length; Trim the webbing strips leaving a 4 inch overhang, burn the ends to prevent fraying3. Attach the strap strips to the bottom of the rear frame, 3 shackles on each end of the strap4. leather, foam, put back in the frame; a stretched webbing to the top edge of the rear frame and stapled together (image)5. sewn straps on left side of rear frame; woven strips together (shown) 6. Tie down straps on right side of rear frame and secured with staples7. stitched leather back to rear frame8. stitched leather strap (covers the staples) on the rear frame. We're not professionals, so be sure to check it out if you're embarking on a project like this. We can't say anything about the quality of the webbing either. But what we have done is quite suitable for our purposes. Successful work!
