At first I wasn't thrilled with the lens but after looking at the pictures on the computer I have to say I like it. Not very sharp at f/1.8 of course, but still good for shots from f2 and up and when you're close to the subject, at least that's my experience. The lens feels solid in your hands. It doesn't come with a hood, but if you read the description, the hood isn't included (always read the description, don't just limit yourself to pictures and you'll thank me later). Of course I would like to have a very expensive Canon 85mm 1.2, but so far this is normal. Take a look at some shots taken at night with available ambient light and a (very old) Canon 5D.
