As a Vibram fan, I found working outdoors difficult, which prevented them for "safety reasons". Normal hiking shoes and boots give me a lot of pain in my foot, knee and hip, especially where I have a lump on my foot. I desperately needed a pair of minimalist hiking shoes to blend in with my peers and still give my feet the freedom they need to move naturally. You did so great. I can walk 8 miles in them with no pain and I didn't have to break them in, no blisters! I highly recommend. I can't say how long they last as I only had them for a week. I usually wear an 8.5 (39 in Vibrams) and this 9 is great.
